Neither unique users or churn mean anything by themselves. What's key here is whether these sites can add unique users at a higher rate than they lose their users. Churn becomes a huge issue as sites mature when growth slows and cost of acquisition gets higher than cost of retention. Instead of just dismissing the numbers I sure hope it's someone's job at Facebook to investigate the cause of this churn.
